North of the Los Cabos airport is Los Barriles, a beautiful beach that has the perfect conditions for windsurfing. Come every January, the “Lord of the Wind” competition takes place, and is attended by hundreds of Americans and Canadians who come down to spend the winter in Baja on the water windsurfing.

This is easily one of the most special events near Los Cabos, as it’s truly mesmerizing to see the colorful sails dance on the waves!

Todos Santos Art Festival

Todos Santos is a picturesque Magical Town (aka a ‘pueblo mágico’) located about an hour from Cabo San Lucas. Every February for the past than 20 years, the Todos Santos Art Festival has been a haven for traditional and modern Mexican art, put on display while accompanied by live music and dance performances.

This is the perfect event to immerse yourself in the incredible local culture of Baja Sur.

Los Cabos Marathon and Half Marathon

Of all the competitions that take place, the Bisbee Fishing Tournament is the largest and most important, and has been held in Los Cabos every October for more than 30 years.

Another exciting one is the East Cape Dorado Shoot Out, which is the largest competition in Baja Sur, with an average of 130 participating teams each year!

Day of the Dead

The Day of the Dead is not exclusive to Los Cabos, but is celebrated in absolutely every corner of the country. It’s a holiday to honor any loved ones who’ve passed away, celebrating their life with beautiful offerings full of flowers, candles, food, and drinks. The idea is you pay your respects and bring them their favorite treats during November 1st and 2nd, which are the days in which, according to tradition, they visit us from beyond.
